In New York City everything is over the top. On Halloween my friends and I found ourselves weaving in and out of the streets in Chelsea in our costumes watching the Halloween Parade. The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade is watched all around the county on Turkey Day. I have also personally turned into an icicle while at the Rockefeller Center Tree lighting. So what does the city offer for Easter? How about some hand designed Faberge Easter Eggs in Rockefeller Center! Talk about the talent this city has to offer! I never thought I would say the sentence, “This Egg is a master piece”, but I did multiple times. The artists used all different techniques to decorate their eggs. Paint, sharpie marker, metal, and just about any other medium of art you could imagine! Now I’m not sure of an exact count, but there had to be over one-hundred! It is only up until the 25th, so if you are in the area I HIGHLY recommend going to see them! You will not be disappointed!
Here are a few of my favorites 🙂

How cool of an idea is this? It was painted with chalkboard paint so people could write and draw on an egg themselves! This was especially fantastic because the whole time I was looking at the eggs I was thinking ‘How the heck do I get involved in this?!’ So, if anyone could help me out with that it would be much appreciated! Cheers to having a new goal/bucket list!

This egg reminded me of my notebooks of my high school chemistry classes, sharper marker doodles! Seriously, this was done by hand with marker and touched up with white out.

Love the scrapbook feel of this one! Reminded me of something my Nana would love to have! She was a pro when it came to gold spray paint ❤

Many of the artists used layers of paint to create textures. Some of the eggs were in cases, but the ones that were not we were able to touch! As much as art should be viewed with your eyes and not your hands, touching the eggs and what they were created with really helps one appreciate them so much more!

Another scrapbook like egg, but with a pop art feel.

The talent that people possess is amazing! Street signs? The artist who thought of that gets two thumbs up!

I just thought this was beautiful 🙂 I hope who ever made it is beyond happy with what he/she has created! I can’t imagine the time and effort that went into this. Talk about patience!!
If you are not able to check out the eggs in person this year you should definitely search for it online or other social media!
